Diagnosis and treatment of common oral mucous membrane diseases

Abstract

This presentation will provide an overview of the common and most relevant oral mucous membrane diseases ranging from white plaque-like lesions and red-white patches to erosive and ulcerative conditions.  This webinar examines several infectious, traumatic, reactive, immunologic, and premalignant disease processes of oral mucosa with emphasis on their etiologies, presentations, diagnosis, and management strategies.  The intended audience are medical and ENT providers, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, and dental professionals.  In addition, this interactive webinar will utilize clinical cases to guide the clinicians in the process of the clinical differential diagnosis and utilization of key clinical features to distinguish between similar disease processes.  

Biography

Dr. Moni Ahmadian, D.M.D is an oral and maxillofacial pathologist.  He completed his advanced training in oral pathology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Queens, NY.   He currently serves as an associate professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) School of Dental Medicine where he directs the oral pathology pre-doctoral curriculum and actively participates in training of the UNLV post-doctoral residency programs.  Dr. Ahmadian is the current director of the UNLV Oral Pathology Biopsy Service.  In addition, he actively participates at UNLV faculty dental practice as an oral medicine clinician along with various community outreach clinics.
